Survival Charade – Mitchell David Ring (The Light is On)

https://thelightison.blog/

Eyes out of night beyond transcendence

come alive in a charade before the masses

black as ink waiting to tell their story

to pour out and drown the reaching hands

Swim away through midnight and you may survive

Float over fathoms deep, kingdoms of the sun

long fallen to the crushing depths and lost

What stories might their dust tell

of death blows struck in silence?

And the slow crumbling of every winding road

away from destinations never reached

is the answer to a thousand prayers

cast out and falling as rain on deaf ears

drowning out the song of secrets

and carried by a wind that stirs along the dusty road

Looking forward to the week ahead, which is all I can really ask for! Hope this finds everyone well.

I am a Social Worker by day and an artist/writer by night. I use the written word in an attempt to make sense of the secret worlds and dysfunctional dynamics that lurk beneath the facades of our daily interactions. I am not sure how my writing styles are characterized, nor am I overly concerned about it. I am immensely enthusiastic about music and often connect better with songs than I do people. I also have an intense appreciation for quality wines and whiskies, frequently consuming them in excess. I like things that smell good and struggle to manage the symptoms of a life-long relationship with depression. So, why "grumpygorman"? Spend some time here and find out...
