“The One Who Got Away” – Patbunny (Swiped from Lucy’s Works)

He’s the one who got away.
Had everything and ran away,
To his paradise far away.

With the love and care meant for me,
The skills, the practice and the support,
Had it long as mine was short.
To run away; forget me, why not?

He’s the one that got away.
The god, the glory, the gold,
Had it all under his hold.

To run away; a movement so bold.
He’s the one who got away.

Left to the monsters, the shadows below,
One last act left to show.
So disappear, leave me behind,
Only in your way, blind and maligned.

He’s the one who got away.

I am a Social Worker by day and an artist/writer by night. I use the written word in an attempt to make sense of the secret worlds and dysfunctional dynamics that lurk beneath the facades of our daily interactions. I am not sure how my writing styles are characterized, nor am I overly concerned about it. I am immensely enthusiastic about music and often connect better with songs than I do people. I also have an intense appreciation for quality wines and whiskies, frequently consuming them in excess. I like things that smell good and struggle to manage the symptoms of a life-long relationship with depression. So, why "grumpygorman"? Spend some time here and find out...
