The Wicked Winter — Vidhur Sahdev

Winter leaves
with tender feet,

leaving footprints
on the snow,

walking away
as if she didn’t care,

but the wicked smile,
on her departing face,

calls a victory
even in seasonal retreat,

for she knows she leaves
her mark deep,

a frozen heart
that beat only for her,

and inspite of all the fires
that i tried to burn,

it remains ice sculpted
frozen in time,

and she mischievously
glances back once,

reading my thoughts
mocking my state,

and the devil in her eyes
silently saying,

“don’t count on summer
for it too will fail”.
