Sitting on the Porch —Keith Garrett

Warm and cozy words from Keith Garrett. I hope you are well.

SITTING ON THE PORCH

From where I sit on a Christmas Eve night,

Cold and breezy, a fire in my sight.

There is no moon as clouds cover this land,

Soon it will snow, a warm drink in my hand.

The trees are many, frost covers their branches,

Quiet is the night, animals have gone to bed.

My hands are cold, wind is heard, It moves through the trees,

Slowly the snow falls, it’s beginning to freeze.

Sitting on the porch, my thoughts are full tonight,

Memories of past Winters, a story of a life.
